Eyebrows can transform your entire look in seconds — but they can also steal the show for the wrong reasons. Here is everything you need to know to step out with brows you are genuinely happy with.
Finding the Right Shape for Your Face
- Heart-shaped face suits full brows with a low, soft arch that balances out a narrow chin.
- Square face benefits from a subtle soft-angled shape with medium thickness to soften strong features. Avoid straight lines and overly thin brows.
- Oval face is versatile and suits almost any shape. A natural form with a little grooming always works well.
- Round face is complemented by defined brows with a clear arch, which creates more angles and height.
- Long face suits flat brows with a gentle arch towards the outer ends to create the illusion of a wider face.
- Diamond-shaped face is flattered by angled, full brows that give the illusion of a broader forehead.
How to Achieve Your Perfect Brow Shape
The best advice is to see an experienced brow stylist at least once to get the right base shape to work with at home. If regrowth has become a challenge after years of over-tweezing, Xbrow Eyebrow Serum can help stimulate the follicles and deliver visibly fuller, denser brows in 28 days.
Want to experiment with shapes and shades before committing? Makeup is an excellent — and completely reversible — way to try different looks. Our Micro Sculpting Brow Pencil, with its ultra-fine tip, gives a natural result that mimics the look of real brow hairs.
Grooming at Home
A little preparation makes a big difference. Sit in natural light or in front of a well-lit mirror, and always groom after a shower when the pores are open and the skin is softer. Keep a cooling aloe vera gel or soothing gel nearby to calm the skin afterwards.
Start by brushing the hairs upward to see their natural length and shape. Do they just need a light trim with small scissors? Avoid the tweezers if you can, and map out the shape with a brow pencil before you start plucking. Mark the start, end and highest point of the arch with light strokes, and follow your natural shape.
Finish by filling in along the shape with Micro Sculpting Brow Pencil in a shade close to your natural hair colour. Go a little lighter towards the inner corners for a natural, soft result — it keeps things from looking too blocky.
With the right shape, the right products and a little patience, perfect brows are well within reach.
