Eyeliner is one of those makeup challenges we always seem to face, and if you have hooded eyes, it can be even trickier. But it doesn't have to be anymore! Xlash has consulted with a makeup artist to get the tips for perfect eyeliner for hooded eyes.
Hooded eyes mean the eyelid is almost completely or entirely covered by skin under the brow bone when your eyes are open. Your eyelid is barely visible or not visible at all. It's a common (and beautiful!) facial feature. Ever wondered what Jennifer Lawrence, Blake Lively, and Olivia Munn have in common? Yep! Hooded eyes. If you have them, the usual makeup techniques might need some tweaking to suit your eye shape. We've found out how to adapt your eyeliner to your eyes with the help of makeup artist Sarah.
Steps to Apply Eyeliner for Hooded Eyes
- Start by marking where you want your wing with a small dot.
- Draw a line connecting your eye corner to the marked dot; for hooded eyes, the line can be slightly lower.
- Keep your eyes open and draw another line connecting your wing to your crease.
- Connect the line to the lash line and fill in the gap.
- Fill in with your eyeliner along the lash line to about the middle of the eyelid. Make the line as straight as you can.
And now you have eyeliner for hooded eyes that stands out! Remember, it's all about personal preference; what suits you is what makes you feel confident. Makeup should be fun!
