How to Actually Take Care of Your Eyebrows

Eyebrows are one of our most expressive features — and also one of the most neglected when it comes to proper care. Here is everything you need to know to keep them healthy and thriving for years to come.

Whether your brows are thick and full or thin and sparse, there is always hope if you start looking after them the right way. The problem for most of us is that we either over-pluck or ignore them entirely — until the damage is already done. Strong follicles and healthy skin beneath and around the brows are the foundation for everything else.

Why Eyebrow Health Matters

If your brows are thin from over-plucking or naturally sparse, the single most important first step is to stop plucking. As tempting as it is to tidy up stray hairs, the follicles need a proper rest to recover. Give them six to eight weeks without plucking, waxing, or threading, and let your natural shape grow through.

Put Down the Tweezers

We know — it takes patience. But those six to eight weeks of growth are what allow your follicles to reset. Resist the urge to tidy up the edges and let your natural shape come through before you make any decisions about form or fullness.

Exfoliate and Moisturise

During the grow-out period, gently exfoliate around the brows to keep the skin clear and give the follicles the best conditions for producing healthy hairs. Heavy creams and balms are not ideal here — they can clog the pores. Instead, use Xbrow Eyebrow Serum, applied along the brows each evening after cleansing. The botanical ingredients absorb into the follicles, strengthen them from within, and deliver visibly fuller and denser brows in 28 days.

Cleansing Is More Important Than You Think

Always remove make-up from the eyebrow area at the end of the day. Build-up of make-up clogs the follicles and inhibits growth — just as mascara damages lashes when left on overnight. Clean follicles are healthy follicles.

Grooming with Care

Once your brows have started to grow back and your natural shape begins to show, it is time for some gentle grooming. Always brush the hairs upwards to see the arch, and only remove hairs below the brow line — never above. Wait until after a shower, when the pores are open and the skin is softer, for a smoother and less uncomfortable experience. Finish with a cooling gel or aloe vera to calm the skin.
