New to shaping and filling in your brows? No worries. Here are ten simple steps that will give you well-defined, natural-looking eyebrows — no matter your experience level.
1. Let your brows grow out
Start by giving your brows a few weeks to grow before you do anything else. You can't create a good shape without enough hair to work with.
2. Boost growth with an eyebrow serum
Want to speed things up, or do you naturally have thin brows? Xbrow Eyebrow Serum stimulates the hair follicles for visibly thicker and more defined brows in 28 days. Apply along the brows every evening after cleansing.
3. Find your ideal brow shape
Use a pencil as a guide to find where your brow should start, end, and where the arch should sit. Draw an imaginary line straight up from your nostril to find the starting point, diagonally outward for the end point, and through the centre of your eye upward for the arch. Mark these spots lightly before you start shaping.
4. Tweeze with care
Remove stray hairs outside the marked shape using a good pair of tweezers. Pluck one hair at a time and regularly step back from the mirror to check your progress. You can always tweeze more — but you can't put hairs back.
5. Trim when needed
Brush the hairs upward with a spoolie and carefully trim any strands that extend beyond the shape. Trim a little at a time so you don't take off too much.
6. Fill in with a brow pencil
Choose the Micro Sculpting Brow Pencil in a shade close to your natural hair colour and fill in sparse areas with light, hair-like strokes in the direction of growth. The ultra-fine tip gives a natural result that genuinely looks like real brow hairs.
7. Keep it natural
Less is always more when it comes to brows. Build up gradually and avoid filling in too heavily or extending too far beyond the natural shape.
8. Clean up the edges with concealer
Apply a small amount of concealer along the brows with a fine brush to sharpen the edges and create a clean, well-defined look. It removes any blurred lines and instantly lifts the whole look.
9. Highlight under the arch
A touch of highlighter or a light eyeshadow just below the brow bone brings out the arch and opens up your eyes straight away.
10. Set for long-lasting hold
Finish with a brow gel to keep the hairs in place all day. Brush upward and outward for a natural, fluffy brow look that stays put from morning to evening.
