Dreaming of healthy, long and shiny hair? We’ve listed five daily habits that could be making your hair thinner.

First of all, thin hair can be caused by a whole bunch of things - stress, hormonal changes, medications and of course your genes. But there are some things you can do in your day-to-day to help your hair become healthier and thicker.


1. Using hot styling tools

We know! This isn’t what you want to hear, but styling your hair with hot tools like a hair dryer, straighteners or a curler makes your hair brittle and dry. Which in turn leads to breakage. So avoid blow-drying and using styling tools with heat as much as possible.



  • Let your hair air dry as much as you can instead of using the hair dryer

  • Always use heat protection when you style your hair and try using a lower heat on your tool than usual

  • Embrace your natural hair! If you for example have curly hair there are plenty of hair products out there that helps your own curls to emerge naturally, without heat

2. Not eating a nutritious enough diet
