Halloween is the perfect excuse to really have fun with your makeup. Here is everything you need to create a mystical and dazzling look from eyes to lips.
Glitter
Glitter is a must for a mystical Halloween look. Choose fine glitter dust in deep turquoise or soft violet as your base, then layer coarser glitter pieces in purple, blue, and black for extra impact. Vaseline works brilliantly as a binding agent — it keeps the glitter in place without sliding. Apply along the upper eyelid, out towards the temples, and sporadically along the cheekbones for a dreamy, mystical finish.
Purple Eyeshadow
Purple is the colour of witchcraft, and the perfect shade for a mystical look. Start with a lighter tone and a highlight in the inner corners and across the upper lid. Build up with deeper purple and black in the crease, sweeping outward towards the outer corners. Connect with a smoky line along the lower lash line and blend thoroughly for a seamless, dramatic effect.
Sharp Eyeliner
The classic cat-eye — but in a more dramatic version. Start by drawing the outer wing first to set the shape, then draw the upper line from the centre of the lid outward to meet it. This avoids a blocky look on larger lids. Fill in with a richly pigmented black eyeliner for a sharp, long-lasting look all evening. Use kohl if you prefer a softer, smokier effect.
Dramatic Lashes
False lashes with extra length and thickness along the entire lid complete the cat-eye perfectly. Choose a set with slightly varied lengths for a more natural finish, with added length towards the centre for the illusion of bigger eyes. Always remove the false lashes and adhesive gently at the end of the evening, and finish with Xlash Eyelash Serum along the lash line to give your lashes recovery and nourishment after a long night of makeup.
Mystical Lipstick
Dark and dramatic are the key words here. Deep purple is a great starting point — and if you want to go all the way, try blending purple on one side and black on the other for a gradient look that truly stands out. Always line your lips first for more definition, then add a touch of glitter towards the centre for a star-lit finish.
Have a magical Halloween.
