Ingredient deep dive - Rosemary
Rosemary is the miracle ingredient for hair growth that everyone is talking about right now. Read more about why and how to do your own rosemary water.
What does rosemary do for your hair?
Rosemary is believed to have several antiseptic properties that can help with sensitive and itchy scalp. The herb also has benefits such as:
- Improving blood circulation in the scalp, which in turn can stimulate hair growth
- Soothing sensitive scalp and acting as an antioxidant
- Can alleviate hair loss
Here's how to make your own rosemary water:
You will need:
7.5 dl of water
10 whole sprigs of rosemary
optional: 4 sprigs of mint
Do this:
- Boil the water and add the rosemary and mint.
- Let it simmer for an hour. The water should turn a red/purple hue.
- Let the infusion cool and then pour the water through a strainer into a spray bottle.
- Spray the water onto the scalp and massage it in with your fingers or a scalp brush. You don't need to rinse out the water. Then style your hair as usual.
