11 Common Brow Mistakes You're Probably Making All the Time

How to Avoid Everyday Brow Mistakes?

You would think that keeping your eyebrows on point would be a very simple task, but there are actually a lot of common brow mistakes you’re probably making all the time.

All of us want perfect eyebrows, but sometimes you just can’t figure out what you’re doing wrong. Perhaps your over-plucking your brows, have the wrong brow shape or struggle with sparse or thin brows. These are all common issues that you can address and finally have a gorgeous brow.

So if you’re wondering how to avoid everyday brow mistakes, don’t miss out on this article!

Tweezing Too Often

One of the most common brow mistakes you’re probably making all the time is tweezing too often, especially if you’re trying to grow out your eyebrows. When you pluck too often, you usually end up with over-plucked, thin, and sparse eyebrows. Although thin eyebrows were once trendy, that’s definitely not the case at the moment.

So give your eyebrows some room to grow and don’t reach for the tweezers every time you see a new hair pop out.

Tweezing Not as Often

So as you have learned, tweezing too often is something to avoid, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pluck your brows at all. I’ve had phases when I would tweeze only once a month, and trust me, it’s not a good look. Even if you’re trying to grow your eyebrows out as I did, you still need to tweeze from time to time. Otherwise, you might end up with a unibrow.

Plucking During Your Period

Us girls (and some men for that matter) know that plucking your brows can be very painful. Regardless of whether you use tweezers, wax, or thread, removing hairs is always uncomfortable.

But did you know that plucking during your period is even more painful than usual?

That’s right, when you’re on your period, tweezing can be a nightmare, so better wait a couple of days.

Tweezing a Couple of Hairs at Once

Tweezing is a tedious job that takes a lot of time. That’s just a fact.

Many women try to speed up that process by plucking multiple hairs at once. However, although it is faster, there are a couple of reasons why you shouldn’t do that.

Firstly, you run the risk of over-plucking and ending up with sparse brows. When you pluck a couple of hairs at the same time, you simply cannot always determine where they’re coming from and might end up with holes in your brows.

It’s also much painful to pluck multiple brows at the same time.

Using a Magnifying Mirror

A magnifying mirror is probably your go-to when it comes to taking care of your brows and plucking them. You see all the little details and can pluck more efficiently.

Sorry to tell you, but that’s actually another one of the common brow mistakes you probably do all the time. Although a magnifying mirror might seem convenient, it’s preventing you to see the big picture. So you pluck away and once you look at your brows in a regular mirror, you see that you’ve completely messed up the shape of your brows.

Sticking with the Wrong Eyebrow Shape

Many women want to follow all the brow trends so they try to completely transform their eyebrow shape. Sometimes it works, but most of the time it just doesn’t. Your natural brow shape is there for a reason – it suits the shape of your face. When you move too much away from that shape, you end up with weird and unnatural looking eyebrows.

So what’s the solution?

For start, grow out your eyebrows and try to pluck them by still keeping your natural brow shape or modifying it only slightly.

Using Just One Brow Product

You might think one eyebrow pencil is all you need for perfect brows, but that’s far from the truth. You also need an eyebrow comb, good tweezers, gel to keep the shape of your brows, and it’s also a good idea to get an eyebrow growth serum (more on this later in the article).

Using the Wrong Brow Pencil Color

Another common brow mistake is using the wrong pencil color for your brows. This might seem obvious, but so many girls use colors that are too dark. If you have a very light complexion and blond/light brown eyebrows, stay away from dark brown or black pencils. You’ll end up with unnatural looking brows and I’m sure that’s not what you want.

Overdoing Your Brows

We also need to address overdoing your eyebrows. I know you want them to look perfect, but if you use too many products or draw your eyebrows on, you will look unnatural and off.

Not Using Brow Growth Serums

If you have thin or sparse eyebrows that are uneven and can’t grow, then you should use an eyebrow growth serum.

Xbrow Eyebrow Serum

It’s the perfect solution if you have a hard time growing out your brows and getting them to be thicker. You simply need to apply it once a day and you’ll see results as soon as three or four weeks. Your eyebrows will be fuller, bolder, and shapelier. So if you’re not using Xbrow eyebrow serum, you should start now!

Not Removing Makeup from Your Eyebrows

If you want to keep your eyebrows healthy and prevent the hairs from falling out too often, then you need to make sure to remove all makeup before you go to bed. It often happens that women neglect to remove makeup from their eyebrows and concentrate on the eyes and the face. That’s a big no-no if you want gorgeous eyebrows.

Also, you should apply Xbrow Eyebrow Serum after you remove makeup.

Summary

Now that you know what are some of the common brow mistakes you’re probably making all the time, you can avoid them and finally have those flawless eyebrows you’ve been dreaming about.
