I have discontinued using Xlash. Can I start over again?

Yes, you can start over again. If you have just missed a few days or weeks, your eyelashes will still have the effect of having used Xlash. However, do not overuse the solution to make up for the lost period.

Are there any side effects if I use Xlash?

Some of the common side effects are itching sensation and redness of eyes. These last for a relatively short period and are not a cause of worry. Other side effects include irritation to the eyes, a burning sensation associated with dryness of eyes and redness of the eyelids. It can also cause a discoloration of areas around the eyes, which is reversible. Though not clinically proven, it is also believed to cause pigmentation of the iris, which is permanent.

I got Xlash into my eyes. Will it harm my eyes?

Xlash is an ophthalmic solution. It is not known to cause any harm to the eyes and need not even be rinsed.

I am allergic to eye creams. Can I use Xlash?

The composition of Xlash is different from that of eye creams and as such you should not be having any problems. However, it is recommended you consult your doctor before you start using Xlash.

I have been using Xlash for a while now. There is discoloration of skin around my eyes. What should I do?

Discoloration of the area around the eyes due to the use of Xlash is reversible. The skin will regain the original color once you discontinue using Xlash.

I am undergoing treatment for IOP. Can I use Xlash?

Elevated Intraocular Pressure or IOP is a condition in which the pressure inside the eye is higher than normal. One or more of the ingredients of Xlash is known to lower the eye pressure. Consult your doctor before using Xlash if you are under medication to for IOP.

I have heard of pigmentation of eye due to use of eyelash growing products. Is it true?

Pigmentation of the iris is not yet proven as a result of use of eyelash growing products though use of similar products have resulted in a brownish pigmentation. If pigmentation occurs, it is permanent in nature.

I experience itching of eyes on use of Xlash. What should I do?

Itching of eyes is a common side effect and does not last long. It will disappear within a short period after application of Xlash. However, if the itching sensation lasts for a considerably longer time, it could be a symptom of allergy. Consult your doctor immediately.

The instructions say only to apply on the upper eyelid. I want my eyelashes of the lower lid also to grow. What should I do?

In order to prevent overuse, it is advised only to apply on the upper eyelid. During sleep, both upper and lower eyelids come in contact and the effect is seen on lower eyelid as well. Hence it is instructed to apply Xlash as a night routine.

What is the composition of Xlash?

The basic ingredient of Xlash is bimatoprost. In addition to this component, it contains benzalkonium chloride; sodium chloride; sodium phosphate, dibasic; citric acid; and purified water. The pH of the solution is adjusted using either sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid. The pH generally ranges from 6.8-7.8.

Applying Xlash

As soon as the drop is placed on the applicator, apply it on the base of the upper eyelash. This should be easy if you have already used eyeliner. Application of Xlash is similar to applying eyeliner. Once you apply it, you will experience a moist sensation. Ensure that there is no runoff of the solution.
